The GAVIN GC1212MA HD MWIR cooled infrared camera core features a self-developed 1280×1024/12μm MWIR cooled detector, providing four times the pixel count of conventional 640×512 detectors within the same active image area. This enables a wider field of view and reveals more detailed imagery.
Equipped with advanced image processing algorithms, this camera module delivers high-definition images suitable for all-weather target detection under various visibility conditions and harsh environments. It can detect and recognize risks and threats at long distances while presenting detailed target information at short ranges.
- Mega Pixel Images: 1280×1024 high definition for wider FOV and longer distance detection with 12μm pixel size for superior spatial resolution
- Sharp Clear Quality: Excellent uniformity with effective pixel rate >99.5% and high thermal sensitivity (NETD 18mK)
- Fast Integration: Supports Cameralink interface with RAW/YUV image data output and various continuous zoom optical configurations

There are currently two types of infrared thermal imaging sensors: cooled and uncooled.
Uncooled IR detectors operate at ambient temperature and are based on semiconductor technology, allowing for mass production with small size and low cost. They are widely used in portable/handheld/mobile devices.
Cooled IR detectors are packaged in units that maintain extremely low temperatures supported by cryo coolers. They are larger, more expensive, and less reliable than uncooled sensors due to complex cooling systems. However, cooled systems offer incredible sensitivity and work with long focal length optics to achieve long-range missions.
Cooled infrared focal plane detectors operate at low temperatures provided by detector dewar coolers (DDC). They feature high sensitivity and can distinguish more subtle temperature differences than uncooled infrared detectors. This enables detection, identification, and recognition of objects at distances exceeding ten kilometers.
The complex structure of cooled detectors results in relatively higher costs compared to uncooled detectors, but provides superior performance for demanding applications.
