PLUG617 LWIR infrared module is one of the PLUG series that are developed by Global Sensor Technology (GST). The PLUG617 uncooled infrared camera core with a resolution of 640x512 and a pixel size of 17um is an ideal solution for security monitoring applications. This type of camera core offers high-quality thermal imaging capabilities, even in complete darkness or adverse weather conditions.
One of the key advantages of uncooled infrared camera cores is that they do not require a cryogenic cooler, which greatly simplifies the design and reduces the cost of the camera system. The PLUG617 thermal camera module can be integrated into security cameras with temperature monitoring from short distance to ultra distance, such as PTZ Camera, Box Camera, Speed Dome Camera.
1. What is infrared thermal imaging?
Infrared thermal imaging is a method of using infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects, in order to formulate images of them, or get temperature information of the objects, even in low visibility environments.
2. How does Infrared Thermal Imaging Work?
Infrared thermal imaging system is a passive non-contact detection and identification of infrared technology. It focuses the infrared radiation of the scene on the focal plane array infrared detector through the infrared optical system that can pass through infrared radiation. The thermal detector converts the radiation signal of different intensity into the corresponding electrical signal, and then through amplification and video processing, forms the infrared image that can be observed by the naked eyes.
3. What's the advantage of uncooled infrared detector?
Uncooled infrared focal plane detector does not need an Integrated Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDCA) device and can work at room temperature. It has the advantages of fast start, low power consumption, small size, light weight, long life, low cost and so on. Although the sensitivity of uncooled infrared focal plane detector is not as good as that of cooled infrared detectors, after years of development, its cost performance has been obviously better than the cooled detector, which has a broader application prospect.
